The Reserve
We are pleased to report that after this initial period of development that has been somewhat
unseen to the naked eye, as it primarily consisted of consents and infrastructure, we are now
seeing the fruits of our labours coming to fruition.
It is also wonderful to see new homes under construction. Homes being built in Lot 5 & 6 already
have the roofs on! We look forward to continue to watch this progress and are excited to
announce that Gibbston Valley Design Studio has signed off another two set of house plans in
the Reserve.
Gibbston River Trail & Resort Landscaping
The cycle trail realignment was a success! We now get the privilege of seeing cyclist enjoying the
beautiful trail that follow along the path of the stunning Kawarau River. Adrian Guiry, GVS
Landscape Manager, and his team has also been hard at work installing 1.2km of rabbit proof
fencing along the trail to preserve the existing landscaping and 1,000 newly planted lavender and
cornus shrubs. The team has placed these pops of colour at the entrance along with tree and
shrub planting along Toms Creek Road.
Future Residential and Amenity Projects
Greg Hunt, GVS CEO, has been working on the plans for the next stage of development within
the Resort. His goal is to ensure that future development will enhance the lifestyle and add to
the overall benefit to Residents. With that in mind, one of the potential upcoming projects being
considered is a recreation zone and wellness centre currently being refer to as the “Quartz”. It
will consist of a tennis court, basketball court, pickle ball courts and a central meeting pavilion
with BBQ and outdoor seating. This will be a great place enjoy time with family and friends. It
also has the potential to be a hub where the Gibbston Valley Resort Community can come
together.
Update on the Gibbston Valley Club (“Club”): Clubhouse and Golf Course

The Club
The formation of the Gibbston Valley Club is still ongoing. Once established, residents will be
required to join as a member, but this will not be until the first of The Club amenities become
available for use. More information regarding the fees payable and the use of the amenities will
be distributed to Residents closer to the final stages of this process.
Golf Course
The Gibbston Valley Golf Course is well under way. The practice green (1100m2) and chipping
area have been completed with the grass currently growing in. The general practice area/
rockery water course has been shaped and the water feed is running. Adrian anticipates that the
practice green and chipping area will actually be ready for casual use starting this upcoming
February. So, if you do plan on making a visit towards the end of the summer – bring a wedge
and putter!
In the meantime, the fairways and greens for holes 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9 will be completed prior to
Christmas, with seeding of greens taking place from late February. In the new year, the team will
move on to the completion of holes 1, 2, 7 & 8. The works left to be done include hard landscaping
(i.e., creating of rock features/obstacles), tee box establishment, mounding, and hole layout
signage. This will all take place from January through to April with the growing in and maturing of
the fairway and greens occurring over the middle of the year. Additional rocks, terraces and rock
pools will also be installed Autumn 2024. As such, the course is expected to be ready to play in
December 2024 – just in time for the summer season!
Clubhouse
Construction of the Gibbston Valley Clubhouse has commenced. It is anticipated that it will be
completed by December 2024, also in time for next summer! Trev Meikle, GVS Site Manager, is
overseeing the project and is committed to completing the build on time and on budget. He has
engaged Kobe Construction to provide the labour for the build. Trev is in the final stages of
discussions with Space Studios, interior designer, and has ensured the quality and practicality of
the furniture and interior fit‐out packages on offer.
